What stays on your device

Your puzzle progress, guess history, and stats (games played/solved, streaks) are saved only in your browser's local storage. They're never sent to a server, and we have no accounts or logins — that data belongs to your device and browser, not to us.

Analytics — Umami

We use Umami, a cookieless analytics service, to see which puzzles get played and whether people finish/share them. It records page visits (which page, roughly when, your browser/device type, and the general region your traffic comes from) and a handful of named events (e.g. a puzzle being solved or failed, or the share/copy buttons being used) tagged with which puzzle they came from.

Umami does not use cookies or any local storage to track you, does not collect your name, email, or any way to identify you personally across visits, and does not sell or share this data with third parties. This is why the site doesn't need a cookie consent banner.

Error tracking — Sentry

If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a report is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. That report can include technical details like the error message, which part of the code failed, your browser/OS, and the page URL you were on. It does not include your puzzle progress, guesses, or anything you typed.

Questions

This page describes the whole of what we collect — there is nothing else being tracked beyond what's listed above.
