What is Noodler?
Noodler is home to Quipher, a free, browser-based daily cipher puzzle — no app to install, no account to create.
How does the daily puzzle work?
Quipher gives you one new encrypted quote every day. The quote to show is picked automatically based on the date, so everyone playing on a given day sees the same puzzle. A new one unlocks daily at local midnight on your device.
What do the numbers and colours mean?
Each letter in the day's quote has been swapped for a number from 1 to 26 — that substitution is the cipher you're cracking. Every cell showing the same number is the same hidden letter, so solving one instance solves all of them. Each number is also given its own colour purely to make the grid easier to scan; the colour itself carries no hidden meaning.
Is there an archive of past puzzles?
Not yet — only today's puzzle is playable. There is currently no archive of previous days' quotes, so if you miss a day, that puzzle isn't available to replay.
How does sharing work, and does it spoil the answer?
Sharing opens a preview first, so nothing posts automatically. You can choose a spoiler-free summary that shows only your result (like guesses used and whether you solved it), or a spoiler view with the fully coloured, solved grid if you want to share the answer itself. You pick which one to copy or share.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free and there is no account or signup of any kind. The game runs entirely in your browser, and your progress and stats are saved locally on your own device rather than on a server.
