Why Noodler exists
Noodler started as a single cipher game and is built to grow into a small home for daily puzzles — games that take a few focused minutes, reward pattern-spotting over trivia, and don't ask anything of you beyond showing up once a day. Quipher is the first; it won't be the last.
The site is structured as a shared foundation with a consistent look and feel, so new daily puzzles can be added over time without the ones already there changing underneath you.
How the cipher works
Quipher is a daily substitution-cipher game: every letter in a quote is swapped for a number, and it's the same swap throughout the whole quote, so cracking one letter cracks every instance of it at once. There's no fixed key to memorise — the substitution is generated fresh from that day's date and quote, so it changes daily instead of repeating a static A-to-Z table.
How quotes get chosen
Every quote is picked for who said it as much as for how well it disguises into a cipher. Solving one should leave you with a bit of history, literature, or science trivia along with the satisfaction of cracking the code — that's why a solved puzzle surfaces a short note about the quote's author, not just the answer.
What's next
The near-term focus is getting Quipher right — the daily mechanic, the curation, the small delights around solving — before spreading attention across a second puzzle. When that changes, it'll show up as a "Daily Puzzles" picker back on the home page.
